Job Description: 

Patient Access Representative - EH

Greets, interviews, and registers patients, arranges for admission to Emanuel hospital, obtains and records pertinent identifying insurance information, assembles all patient access paperwork, provides HIPAA information to patients and collects appropriate co-pays or deposits.  

This hire will "float" coverage between all access areas. There will be variety in your work environment. 


Job Qualifications: 


A minimum of one year of healthcare experience or equivalent education in at least one of the following areas required : Patient Access, Medical Records/Health Information or applicable clerical support experience. Six months customer service experience required. Previous registrar and third party payor experience preferred. An understanding of healthplan and benefit structures preferred.

This opportunity is a "night" shift - 7:00pm to 7:30am. There is a shift differential assiociated with the shift.


High School diploma or equivalent required. A minimum of two years college education including satisfactory completion of college level Health Records coursework preferred.



National Certification of CHAA preferred. 


Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly in the English language
