Job Description

The Technical Operations Department at 9NEWS, KUSA & KTVD-TV has an immediate opening for a full-time temporary  Broadcast Operations Technician We are looking for a positive, energetic, detail-oriented individual to join Denver, Colorado's market leader.

Primary duties will include:

  • Operation of our Master Control room
  • Responsible for On-Air functions of multiple platforms.
  • Monitoring of signals for KUSA and KTVD-TV
  • Acquisition, ingestion and QC for digital programs and commercials
  • Automation playlist management
  • Switch commercial breaks for LIVE network programming
  • Assist with remote location LIVE shots for newscasts
  • Ensure the technical aspects of program logs are completed and provide seamless integration with master control systems enabling automation. 

Job Requirements

  Requirements:

  • Candidates must have two years of hands-on broadcast automation experience and possess the ability to remain focused in a fast-paced environment.
  • Background in broadcast/cable master control operations
  • Live TV/Video expertise, including studio and control room work
  • Transmitter / satellite experience
  • ENG engineering including microwave and bonded cellular platforms
  • Studio Camera Robotics systems   
  • Ingesting, Recording, Segmenting and QC of programming
  • Automation Playlists functionality
  • Live Master Control Switching for Live Network events
  • Computer and/or broadcast technical skills are a plus as cross-training in areas outside Master Control will be required.   
  • This is a 40 hour/week temporary position with additional hours as required; candidate must be available to work overnights, weekends and holidays if requested.
