Electrical or Computer Engineering jobs at NSA run the gamut of new technology, ranging from hardware reverse engineering, Radio Frequency (RF) design, vulnerability analysis using Cloud Analytics, Engineering Systems and/or software/hardware design development of next-generation capabilities, to name a few.

Engineering positions at NSA require self-starters who are willing to tackle new problems in a dynamic environment.  The selected individuals must be adaptable, innovative, creative, and ready to lead their organization on mission critical projects.  Engineers are expected to appropriately apply discrete mathematics, probability and statistics, and other relevant topics in engineering and supporting disciplines to complex systems.

Qualifications Salary Range:  $68,586 - $85,464 (Entry/Development)

Salary offers are based on candidates' education level and years of experience relevant to the position and also take into account information provided by the hiring manager/organization regarding the work level for the position.

With a professional Engineering degree, entry is with a Bachelor's degree and no experience.

- With a degree in either (1) Physics or Astronomy from an accredited college or university or (2) a relevant professional technical field (e.g. chemistry, architecture, computer science, mathematics, hydrology, geology), entry is with a Bachelor's degree plus 1 year of relevant experience.

- For all of the above degrees, if program is not ABET EAC accredited, it must include specified coursework.*

*Specified coursework includes courses in differential and integral calculus and 5 of the following 18 areas: (a) statics or dynamics, (b) strength of materials/stress-strain relationships, (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics, (d) thermodynamics, (e) electromagnetic fields, (f) nature and properties of materials/relating particle and aggregate structure to properties, (g) solid state electronics, (h) microprocessor applications, (i), computer systems, (j) signal processing, (k) digital design, (l) systems and control theory, (m) circuits or generalized circuits, (n) communication systems, (o) power systems, (p) computer networks, (q) software development, (r) Any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, or soil mechanics.

- Experience in designing engineering systems over their lifecycle (e.g., concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal) is desired. Experience in optimization and modeling is preferred.

Salary Range:  $79,334 - $105,663 (Full Performance)

- Experience using VHDL in ASIC and/or FPGA design
- Conducting software systems configuration management
- Evaluating or testing computer applications or programs to ensure compliance with technical, professional or organizational standards/requirements
- Analyzing problems to determine technical solutions
