Job Description:
Toxic Gas Monitoring System Technician duties will include: the day-to-day operation, maintenance and calibration of the site's toxic gas monitoring system.
This position will initially receive training during the day shift position, 7:00 am - 4:00pm. The position will then be shifted to an early morning shift, 4:00 am -1:00pm. However, the shift may be adjusted as business conditions dictate. Other reasonable duties as assigned.
This position is responsible for:
Ability to troubleshoot the toxic gas monitoring system (TGMS) components and be able to track and ship back such units or sensors to their associated manufacturer.
Assist with life safety testing of all tools connected to the TGMS,
Support shutdown activities as needed.
Support operational issues as needed, such as gas detector, GIB and Scrubber faults.
Position will assume a support role for the personnel that interface with the TGMS including ordering parts, inventories of supplies, training personnel and equipment preventive maintenance.
Requirements:
The position requires an Associate's Degree in technology, systems, engineering or related field
OR
Equivalent educational and professional experience and training in a highly technical environment plus a minimum of 2 years' experience in instrumentation and controls or electrical/mechanical maintenance.
Candidates must be willing to work on morning or overnight shifts and be available for after hours support calls.
Must have the ability to climb ladders and wear personal protective equipment.
Must work well independently and as part of a team; be a self-starter; possess good time management and project management skills; have the ability to set priorities for multiple tasks.
Computer proficient in Microsoft products; possess good written and oral communication skills and outstanding interpersonal skills;
Have the ability to process new information and formulate a written systematic plan for development and implementation.
Candidates must address in their applications their ability to work with culturally diverse populations. This position is contingent on the satisfactory completion of a background investigation; this position may require annual background investigations.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Prior gas monitoring maintenance experience or semiconductor tool maintenance experience. Programmable logic controller system maintenance and troubleshooting. Have the capability to maintain active Emergency Response Team (ERT) membership.
