The Department of Neurosurgery is a widely-respected academic neuroscience program with an international reputation. Faculty members specialize in treating a wide variety of neurological disorders, while actively pursuing research. State-of-the-art techniques for skull based and spine surgeries have led to referrals from patients across the world. In 2013, the Surgical Movement Disorders Clinic opened, bringing new surgical treatment options for area patients with Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders, along with training opportunities.
