The Information Technology Technician provides technical support of specialized applications to County employees. Responsibilities may include evaluating, installation, repair and maintenance of computer hardware and applications, assisting with program diagnosis and resolution; collecting data and submitting service requests.

JOB DUTIES: Installs, evaluates, configures, tests, programs, and maintains on- and off-site technology software, hardware, file servers, networks, and peripheral devices to ensure operational efficiency and compliance with relevant policies, procedures, and standards.

Troubleshoots and documents technical and network problems related to computers, technological equipment, software, and/or related equipment to ensure proper functioning.

Provides technical support and/or training related to specialized applications or County employees.

Performs operations, such as scanning, cleaning, reformatting, and debugging, on County on­ and off-site equipment and systems, to ensure system security and prevent cyber threats, viruses, and malware.

Collaborates with manufacturers and vendors to resolve technical and network issues, and repair and maintain technological equipment and systems.

Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.

QUALIFICATIONS: Associate's degree or two-year technical certificate in Information Technology or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Positions in this class typically require: climbing, balancing, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, fingering, grasping, talking, hearing, and seeing. Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for Sedentary Work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for Light Work. Incumbents may be exposed to hazardous physical conditions, such as, mechanical parts, electrical currents, and vibrations; extreme temperatures; work space-related movement restrictions; and intense noise
