WHAT YOU WOULD DO:

  • Provide primary support for assigned technology areas.
  • Participate and lead design and development activities for assigned technology areas.
  • Administer assigned technology focus across IT infrastructure.
  • Maintain current knowledge of technology developments in assigned areas.
  • Accountable to design, develop, implement, document, and maintain technology strategy to ensure business continuity and ability to successfully implement disaster recovery process for assigned areas of technology focus.
  • Develop and publish appropriate documentation for assigned technology areas.
  • Project Management: help develop and implement technology project plans.
  • Facilitate training in assigned technology focus areas for I/S colleagues.
  • Work collaboratively across I/S to deliver outstanding customer service and satisfaction.
  • Keep manager and client users informed of technology change process and progress.
  • Demonstrate positive interpersonal skills to resolve situations.
  • Other duties may be assigned dependent upon utility needs and individual qualifications.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Qualified candidates should have an Associate's Degree and 5 years of experience working in a complex technical environment, or current industry standard certifications. A Bachelor's Degree in a technology-related field and 5+ years' experience with progressively responsible work experience is preferred. These positions require strong written and communication skills. Successful candidates must have excellent organizational skills, be a self-starter, and work collaboratively in cross functional teams.

Clark Public Utilities has two IT Senior Systems Engineer positions. One with a focus on virtualization technologies and related concepts such as storage, backup and recovery. The second position will focus on cloud technologies, infrastructure, and security.

Candidates interested in the virtualization role will have demonstrable experience and proficiency with virtualization and cloud technologies VMWare, Azure or AWS, and hands-on experience with two of the following core disciplines: Windows Server Administration, Enterprise storage administration (NAS/SAN), Enterprise networking/NextGen Firewall, Enterprise Backup and recovery on-prem and to the cloud for system business continuity and resiliency to maintain a 24x7x365 operational status.

Candidates interested in cloud technologies, infrastructure, and security role will have demonstrable Office 365/Exchange experience along with Azure. Hands-on experience in two or more of the following disciplines is desirable, Windows/Linux server deployment and administration, cloud platform administration, cybersecurity, Active Directory, and Role Based Administration.

SALARY:
Clark Public Utilities' salary ranges are market based and established annually. With full competency in the role and satisfactory performance the target is midpoint within the established range. IT Senior Systems Engineer: $79,546 - $100,493 - $121,441
